Executive functioning is the brain’s "air traffic control system." It helps us manage all the thoughts, tasks, and feelings flying around in our heads — so we can get things done, stay calm, and keep life moving smoothly.
These are the behind-the-scenes skills that help us:
Make a plan and stick to it
Start a task (even when it’s not our favorite)
Stay focused without drifting off
Remember small details
Handle changes or surprises
Keep cool when things feel frustrating or overwhelming
-
When these skills are tricky, you might notice…
Big emotions over small things (“But I don’t want to!”)
Getting distracted or off-task easily
Starting something… but not finishing it
Constant reminders to get ready, pack up, or follow directions
A bag or backpack full of crumpled papers and misplaced items
Trouble figuring out where to start on homework or chores

Creating routines that actually stick
Learning how to plan, organize, and manage time
Practicing tools to stay calm and flexible when plans change
Boosting independence, confidence, and self-esteem

I am not an in-network provider, however, I provide detailed invoices (Superbills) that you can submit to your insurance company for possible reimbursement. Many clients I work with are able to receive partial or full reimbursement for my services with out-of-network benefits.
